Richmond Community Hub opens doors

With a huge display of community excitement and support, the Richmond Community Hub opened its doors this past Saturday. This marks a historic milestone for both CYC and the Richmond, as we seek to better serve the needs of local youth, seniors, and families throughout this important neighborhood.

The celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and speeches by distinguished government officials and by CYC youths and seniors served by our Richmond programs. CYC Executive Director Sarah Wan unveiled a new artwork by Brightline Defense leader Eddie Ahn, a close friend of CYC. His artwork celebrates the winning spirit of the our famous dragon boat team (who are still on cloud nine following a fantastic victory streak) as well as the connections we share in the Richmond and across the city. With dragons and drums to lead the way, the official ceremony continued with tours of the building and delicious food provided by local partners.

We can’t thank enough those who attended, and those there in spirit, who helped make this big day and big dream possible. This shared space will offer educational and employment opportunities, counseling services, and programs that are culturally and linguistically tailored to the needs of the community.

As CYC Board Chair Jaynry Mak, Esq. said at the ceremony, “This shared space is a symbol of what we can achieve together. It’s where we strengthen our ties, embrace our diverse cultures, and create pathways that allow every individual to thrive… Together, we are creating a legacy of positive change that will resonate for generations to come.”
