Program Coordinator – MYEEP

Position Program Coordinator (Mayor’s Youth Employment & Education Program, Chinatown)
Salary $26.00-$28.00 per hour plus benefits
Reports to Program Director
Status Full-Time (40 hours/week), Non-Exempt

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program, one of CYC’s programs, is a workforce development program that provides subsidized employment experience and learning activities to over 400 San Francisco youth. The subsidized employment occurs at various nonprofit, private, and public sector organizations throughout San Francisco. The Mayor’s Youth Employment & Education Program (MYEEP) Project Coordinator will orchestrate an employment-based youth development program for youth ages 14-17 residing or attending school in the Chinatown and North Beach Districts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing program participants for subsidized employment at nonprofit and public sector placements
  • Developing and facilitating workshops to meet program learning objectives
  • Outreaching, recruiting and certifying youth participants
  • Compiling monthly reports and correcting timesheets for program participants
  • Checking in with each individual participant on a regular basis
  • Conducting case management and developing individualized transition plans
  • Recruiting worksites to host program participants
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with worksites, community leaders, and stakeholders
  • Supervising youth leaders, youth interns, and part-time adult program staff
  • Meeting with staff from collaborating agencies
  • Supporting program and agency wide events
  • Other duties related to program as assigned   

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years of youth development experience or experience in nonprofit direct services or related field
  • Demonstrate clear and practical facilitation skills
  • Experience and ability to work with diverse populations of youth
  • Knowledge of the needs of youth involved with the juvenile justice system
  • Experience building professional relationships
  • Have exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks with competing timelines
  • Competency with PC-based software including Microsoft Office and various Adobe software
  • Knowledge of youth programs, schools, and resources in San Francisco
  • Commitment to taking regular Covid-19 health tests as required by program health and safety guidelines and/or current health directives.
