Thanksgiving spirit shines across the city
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, CYC joined the San Francisco Human Services Agency, A. Philip Randolph Institute, and Moonstar Charitable Organization to host the much-anticipated annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway. This citywide event, taking place across Bayview, Richmond, and Excelsior, brought warmth and festive spirit to underserved families and seniors in our community.
The day was a busy and happy one, as the team distributed 140 turkeys and 100 healthy, pre-packaged meals to local families. At each location, seniors enjoyed a special presentation that delved into the history of Thanksgiving and shared vital holiday safety tips.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our partners. The Human Services Agency and A. Philip Randolph Institute generously donated the turkeys, while Moonstar Charitable Organization sponsored the delicious, wholesome meals. Their dedication to uplifting the community showcased the true power of partnerships during the holiday season.
