Celebrating Lunar New Year on Ocean Avenue
We had a great time on Ocean Avenue this past weekend ushering in the Year of the Tiger. It was great to see everyone in person again after two years of virtual celebrations. The community came out in full force, as over a thousand people supported local businesses, watched cultural performances, played games, and participated in arts and crafts. We’re glad that we can continue this tradition envisioned by former President of the Board of Supervisors Norman Yee.
This was truly a team effort in making this community event happen. It was an honor and blast to work with Ocean Avenue Association, OMI Cultural Participation Project, OMI Community Collaborative, Ocean Avenue Incubators, Assemblymember Phil Ting, Supervisor Myrna Melgar, and Supervisor Ahsha Safai on this event.
