Chinese New Year Parade
We were so happy to be back in person for the Chinese New Year Parade. Our youth look forward to participating in this event every year and taking part in long-standing traditions. For the youth and their families, celebrating the new year is the biggest holiday in the calendar.
Right from the beginning we could feel the energy of excitement from the participants and the crowd. Before the parade began, our youth were able to meet Grand Marshal Daniel Wu and Honorary Marshal Shannon Lee (Bruce Lee’s daughter). What a great way to lead into the parade.
This year, over 80 youth participated in the parade to honor the Year of the Tiger. They spent 4 weeks practicing a flag dance for the parade and it did not go unrecognized as CYC won 1st Place under Specialty Units. We look forward to doing this again at next year’s parade.
